Wheatland Tube produces steel pipe using two different processes. The first process is continuous weld (CW), and it provides many benefits including easier threading, bending and cutting, making it the preferred type of pipe for contractors. Wheatland is the only producer of continuous weld steel pipe in the Western hemisphere and one of the few left in the world. The second process is electric resistance weld (ERW). Wheatland’s Grade B ERW pipe is seam annealed at the weld zone which provides a stronger, more ductile pipe that is less susceptible to corrosion.

In this presentation, Craig Kohler will walk through both the CW and ERW processes and discuss the benefits each provides. Additionally, the presentation will cover common sizes, specifications and certifications.
