The main factor in the 2012 construction market is the economy. With experts citing a 40% risk of another recession, 25 million Americans either underemployed or unemployed, and consumer spending continuing on a conservative track, the outlook for the overall construction industry this year does not look promising.
However, there is a bright spot — in the form of alternative energy. The renewable energy sector has the most growth potential for electrical contractors in 2012. In fact, thanks to tax incentives from energy bills, alternative-energy projects will be the strongest players in the construction market this year.
